Harrow Beekeepers has some equipment which is free to use by members of the association.

We have the following:

2 hive carriers

2 stainless steel 9-frame radial extractors, one with detachable legs

2 stainless steel 2-to-4-frame tangential extractors, each with detachable legs

1 plastic free-standing 2-to-4-frame tangential extractor

We recommend that soda crystals with warm water are used to clean the extractors.  The extractors need to be returned clean so that they can be issued to the next beekeeper.

With the tangential extractors please don’t go too fast and remember to turn the frame around half way through your extracting.

The knack to using the stainless steel tangential extractors is to make sure that the handle clicks/locks in to place then the drum that holds the frame will turn.

Please note we don’t supply straps or travel screens with the hive carriers.
